FAQ

How can I enable the Keyb keyboard extension?

There are two ways to enable the keyboard in the iOS Settings app:

  1. Under General / Keyboard / Keyboards tap on Add New Keyboard and then tap on Keyb in the Third-Party Keyboards section.
It is recommended to tap on the newly-created entry for Keyb and enable the toggle for Allow Full Access.

  2. Under Apps / Keyb / Keyboards, enable the toggle next to Keyb.
It is recommended to also enable the Toggle for Allow Full Access

Once the keyboard is enabled, you can switch to it by long-pressing the globe button on the keyboard in any text field.

What is Full Access?

The 'Allow Full Access' toggle is a security feature from Apple. It severly limits what keyboard extensions from third-party developers can do.

Which features need Full Access?

Snippets which define static text work without Full Access.
In addition, the date / time, selected text and text transformation placeholders will work.
For all other placeholders, you need to enable Full Access.
Haptic feedback only works if Full Access is enabled.
